Claranet appoints new Technical Director

Claranet has appointed Paul Court as technical director to drive the development of its technology offering and accelerate its continuing evolution as a Managed Services Provider. The Internet and hosting expert will also help ensure that the technical and services sides of the business maintain their close alignment as the business continues to grow and become even more service-oriented.

Formerly technical services director of Telecity Group, Court brings a wealth of experience and expertise in Internet and hosting to Claranet. He was also COO of Globix, where he oversaw the design, provisioning and management of hosting services to over 400 customers, including major UK organisations such as Transport for London and Carphone Warehouse.

I'm inspired by Claranet's vision to enable customers to focus on their core business by simplifying IT management. Radically extending the reach and scope of its service offering is a natural progression for the former business ISP and one that Claranet are fully committed too. With a strong background in managed hosting, networking and applications, Claranet combines unmatched expertise with a unique offering, and I'm keen to make sure the company retains this competitive edge while still remaining flexible and accountable, something a lot of our competitors are struggling to achieve.Paul Court, new Technical Director, Claranet

Michael Robert, Managing Director, Claranet, said:
Paul is an industry expert and an exceptional addition to our team. What makes him so suited to Claranet is that he focuses on the customer and their business issues first, and the IT solution second. He's also as comfortable talking to CEOs and CFOs as network engineers and developers, which is crucial nowadays when every IT purchase needs to be justified in terms of return on investment.
