Claranet secures position on The Sunday Times Top Track 250

Claranet earns place among the UK’s fastest growing privately-owned businesses in the mid-market

Claranet has achieved the rank of 178th in The Sunday Times Top Track 250 for 2017. Published on Sunday 1st October, the league table ranks the fastest-growing privately-owned businesses in the UK. Claranet’s placement in the league table for the second year in a row follows a period of record growth, which saw the business double in size.

Established in the UK in 1996, Claranet has developed via acquisition and organic growth to become one of the leading providers of managed services in Europe and currently delivers hosting, network, communications and security services to over 6,500 customers across eight countries (UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, The Netherlands, and Brazil).

The company’s recent growth has been driven in part by a series of strategic acquisitions in the UK, Europe and beyond. In December 2016 Claranet expanded into Brazil through the acquisition of public cloud services provider CredibiliT. Claranet has also consolidated its presence in its established regions, significantly expanding its service portfolio and expertise. These acquisitions included UK e-commerce systems management expert Ardenta, UK security solutions provider Sec-1, French DevOps and cloud specialist Oxalide, and the Portuguese IT business ITEN Solutions.

This activity, alongside organic growth, has seen Claranet’s revenues grow significantly, climbing from £153million in 2016, to around £310million today, earning the company a place among the UK’s fastest growing mid-market businesses.

Charles Nasser, founder and CEO of Claranet, commented:

The IT services industry remains one of the most vital and dynamic facets of UK business, and competition is rife. Despite this, we have been consistent in our growth and this shows no signs of stopping; something that owes much to our core philosophy of developing through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. In our 21 years, Claranet has grown from an ISP to being an expert in the migration and running of critical applications and infrastructure, 24x7. We work in rapidly changing fields including public cloud and security and have worked hard to stay relevant to our customers, becoming a leading expert in a wide range of IT services. It is especially encouraging to see a number of our customers rank alongside us in this league table."

Although we have grown in size, our focus has always remained on delivering local services out of local offices. This focus is critical for developing the close, trusted relationships that our customers need to succeed in the long term and achieve amazing things.”
