Setting Up Outlook Express

Launch Outlook Express and select the Tools menu, then click on Accounts.

1) Select Add, and then Mail to open the Email Wizard.
2) Insert your name as you would like it to appear to recipients, then click Next.

3) Type your email address in the box provided (in lower case), then click Next.

4) You will now be presented with the Email Server Names window. Enter the following details:

Incoming Mail Server - pop.clara.net
Outgoing Mail Server - relay.clara.net

Please Note: You can only use the Claranet SMTP server to send mail if you are connected using Claranet. If you use an alternative internet provider, please contact them for the address of their outgoing mail server.

Click on Next to proceed.

5) In the Internet Mail Logon page, enter the username and password for your account. For example, if your email address is "yourusername@clara.co.uk" the username you enter would be "yourusername". If you have a Claranet email account that is provided as part of a Clarahost package, then the username should be the full email address.

Please Note: DO NOT select 'Log on using Secure Password Authentication'.

6) Click Next, and then click on Finish.
