Using Safari

Safari for Mac is the default browser that comes as part of Mac OS X. The following guide gives you some information on how to use Safari for Mac.

General Customization

To customize Safari, click on Safari and then Preferences.

You will be presented with the screen shown below. If you select the General tab you can set the home page to whatever you like. You can also determine where the downloaded files are saved to.

To enable tabbed browsing, select the Tabs icon at the top and tickthe "Enable Tabbed Browsing" box to enable it.

Clearing The Cache

If you wish to save some disk space, you can try and clear out the cache for the browser. Click on Safari and then Empty Cache.

Clearing The History

To clear the history, simply click on History and then Clear History.

Blocking Pop Ups

Safari has an inbuilt pop up blocker. To activate it, click on Safari and then click on "Block pop-up windows".
