FTP Requirements

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a simple and efficient way to transfer files to and from web space via an Internet connection.

Requirements

1) You must have your computer connected to the Internet.

2) Port 21 on your firewall should be open/unblocked toenable communications with our server.

3) A web browser or a FTP client installed on the computer. Examples of web browsers are Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari. Examples of FTP clients are Smart FTP, FileZilla and Fetch.

4) Your host/Server name and login details which Claranet have provided. Host/Server: www.yourdomainname, or home.clara.net if you have a non hosting account with us, e.g. Dial up or ADSL. Alternatively, you can use bed-11.uk.clara.net. (Excluding Clara corporate domain users).
