The following is a guide to setting up an email account on Mac Mail.
1) Open up Mac Mail by clicking on the stamp icon on the desktop.
You should then be presented with the welcome screen.
If you don't see this and end up going straight to the main mail window,
click on the File menu and then Add Account.
Click on Continue

2) In the following window, ensure that:
The account type is POP.
Select the account description as you see fit.
Enter your full name.
Enter you full Claranet email address.
Once done, click on Continue to proceed.

3) In this window, enter the following:
The incoming mail server should be filled in as pop.clara.net.
The username and password for your Claranet account.
Please note that if you have a Claranet email account that is provided as part of a ClaraHost package, then the username should be the full email address including the domain name e.g. joebloggs@example.co.uk.

4) For the incoming mail security settings please select password and leave the "use secure sockets layer" checkbox unchecked and click
on "Continue".

5) In this window, please enter the outgoing server (SMTP) as relay.clara.net and leave the authentication box unchecked. Once done, click
on Continue.

6) For the outgoing mail security settings leave the "use secure sockets layer" checkbox unchecked and click on Continue.
Please note that if you are connecting to the internet using another provider, enter the outgoing SMTP server for that provider.

7) This window gives you a chance to review the settings that you have entered. Click on Continue to proceed.

8) In the final screen, click on Done to complete the wizard or click on "Create an account" to setup another address.
