Internet Explorer is the default browser that comes pre-installed in the Windows operating systems. The following guide gives you some more information on how to use Internet Explorer 6. To customize your IE6 settings click on the Tools menu and then Internet Options.

In the Internet Options window there are seven tabs, the first is General. Here you can set your homepage to whatever you like. The homepage is the webpage that will appear when you open Internet Explorer or click the home button on the toolbar at the top of Internet Explorer.

Also in the general screen are the settings for your history folder which contains all the pages you have recently visited. You can change the number of days to keep pages in the history, you can also access the history list by clicking on the history icon on the Internet Explorer toolbar. You will notice that there are folders for every day.
In this screen you can delete the temporary Internet files to save disk space to do so simply click on Delete files and then on the next window click on Ok. You can also edit the settings for your temporary Internet files here. The temporary Internet files folder contains all the webpages you have opened recently. The webpages are copied to this folder so that if you open them again, they will be displayed quicker.
To change the settings click on Settings.
Here you can change when Internet Explorer will check for newer versions of the pages in the folder, the amount of disk space available for the folder and the location of the folder. Click Ok to go back to the general screen.

1) You can save your favourite web addresses in Internet Explorer to save you having to type them in everytime you're online. You can export your favourites list to another PC or browser by clicking on File then "Import and Export".

2) You will now see the wizard shown below. Click on Next.

3) Now select "Export Favourites" and click on Next.

4) If you wish to keep all favourites then you can leave the Favourites folder selected and click on Next.

5) Choose a name for the file, then the location to save it and click on Save.

6) Click on Finish to complete the wizard. To Import, just follow the wizard again and choose Import instead of Export and follow the wizard's instructions.
