Claranet launches new hosting services that give customers an enhanced SLA at a reduced cost

Revamped hosting boosts overall managed services offering. Managed services provider, Claranet, today announced the launch of a new range of hosting services that enables businesses to cut costs, reduce risk and improve application performance. The enhanced Co-Location, Managed Hosting and Managed Applications Hosting services are the result of a major revamp of Claranet's hosting platform involving an investment of over £800,000 in the most innovative EMC information management and storage technology and Cisco network infrastructure. The investment means Claranet can give customers higher quality and more reliable services, which are more competitively and flexibly priced than ever before, all under one improved SLA.

Claranet's new Managed Application Hosting SLA is one of the most advanced in the industry in terms of its simplicity and business relevance. Rather than providing an individual target or guarantee for each element of a hosting platform, Claranet has drastically simplified the SLA by bundling the individual components together and focusing on its primary purpose: hosting a highly available application.

Michel Robert, Managing Director of Claranet said:
Customers told us they wanted an availability guarantee for their application as a whole rather than for parts of the managed service such as network uptime or server performance. After all, it's the application that matters most. We designed our Managed Application Hosting SLA to assure end-to-end application availability.

According to Robert, the new infrastructure boosts Claranet's overall managed services offering and puts it in an ideal position to take advantage of the increasing popularity of outsourced hosting services.

Market conditions are forcing businesses to search for ways to save money while maintaining productivity, driving innovation and improving reliability. At the same time, they have to tackle growing demands for data storage and improved application performance. Outsourcing the management and hosting of their applications is an easy and effective way for them to do all of these things, made easier by our end-to-end SLA that includes the network, servers, data center and application management.

The new hosting services are proof of Claranet's commitment to building lasting relations with its customers. They are part of a programme of investment that will ensure that the company's range of managed services remains second-to-none by evolving to meet changing customer requirements.

Adrian McDonald, Vice-President, UK and Ireland at EMC, said:
EMC and Claranet enjoy a long-standing and successful relationship, and we are very pleased to work with Claranet as it seeks to deliver yet more quality and value to its customers. This project is further testament to the strength of our partnership and the trust that Claranet has in EMC's technology and consultancy.
