Events diary: IP Expo and Apps World

Claranet exhibited at two events during October: IP Expo and Apps World, each lasting two days.

IP Expo is an enterprise IT event which showcases many different technologies and services: applications, mobility and devices, cloud, networks, security, communications, data and analytics, virtualisation, storage and governance and risk. Claranet’s service portfolio correlates with many of these areas so IP Expo proved an excellent opportunity to showcase a broad array of our offerings. On our stand we demonstrated and had conversations about our Virtual Data Centre platform, our Managed Application Hosting Service, and our unified communications offer among other services from our hosting, communications and networks portfolios.

UK MD Michel Robert also gave a well-received presentation on 'adoption trends and the journey to the cloud' with the MD of our partner NetEvidence in one of the official event theatres.

Apps World was the second trade show we exhibited at. This event, as its name suggests, specifically focuses on the world of applications: therefore the attendees are largely those people who develop and consume apps.

Claranet is increasingly keen to highlight the importance of the application in peoples lives. How a business uses and manages applications is fundamental to its success as apps now touch every part of a business’ operations; from procurement and finance through to sales, marketing and HR. Customers and employee expectations regarding application performance, security and availability are at an all-time high.

Therefore we were keen to showcase our unique Managed Application Hosting service which offers developers and end users extremely high levels of performance, security and availability. We enjoyed the many interesting conversations with developers and agencies, who began to understand the value of our offer. Martin Saunders, Product Director, also touched on many of these themes and particularly issues of security in a panel meeting discussing the integration of applications with corporate infrastructure. Finally a brief mention for Steve Wozniak who spoke to a huge, delirious crowd at a Keynote event, a speech we very much enjoyed.
